A new element has been added to the campus of the University of Vienna. After the Teaching Center, designed by Austrian architects bus architektur and the LIBRARY AND LEARNING CENTER (LLC) at WU Campus by Zaha Hadid Architects, it is the turn of the Departments Of Law And Central Administration designed by CRAB Studio.

a 200 meter long pair of buildings snaking west to east in a series of brightly coloured streaks that cheer up the often grey skies of Vienna’s Prater district.” This is how the architects Peter Cook and Gavin Robotham, founders of the office introduce the project.

The curving façade has four colour bands ranging from orange to yellow, muted by the presence of a system of wooden horizontal and vertical sunshades.

Particular attention has been devoted to the development of outdoor spaces to create a vibrant place used by students even outside school hours as a meeting and socialization point.

The spaces are on different levels and are characterized by a cladding of wooden planks, green areas and circular elements that emerge from the ground and allow the underground floors to be lit naturally.
