20/09/2013 - Foster & Partners Headquarters will be opening its Battersea studio to the public as part of the 2013 London Open House weekend. Entry is to the mezzanine floor, where there will be a display of recent projects and visitors will have a view over the 60-metre studio.
A number of buildings in London designed by Foster + Partners will also be accessible during Open House 2013. These include Capital City Academy (Brent), 30 St Mary Axe, The Gherkin (City of London), the Sackler Galleries at the Royal Academy of Arts, HM Treasury and the British Library of Political and Economic Science (Westminster), City Hall (Southwark) and Citigroup Centre and One Bishops Square (Tower Hamlets).
Open House London is an annual celebration of the capital’s architecture, which has been running for more than twenty years. It takes place during the weekend of 21-22 September 2013, when more than 700 buildings, many of which are normally closed, are opened to the public – all for free. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the richness of London’s architectural heritage.
