The second edition of the biennial award Premio Fondazione Renzo Piano, an award given by Fondazione Renzo Piano and by the Associzione Italiana di Architettura e Critica_ presS/Tletter, has been won by the Italian-Spanish design office DOSarchitects with their DUNCAN TERRACE project. The collective made up of the young talented architects Lorenzo Grifantini and Tavis Wright, recently picked up their first prize of € 10,000 from the headquarters of the Fondazione Renzo Piano in Genoa.

Renzo Piano was there to congratulate the winners. He motivated his choice of DOSarchitects as follows: “all the projects have something going for them. My choice in the end fell on DOS. It is a small and well-executed project. But you must always pay attention to the change of scale, because it is easy to lose control. Never lose your determination!”

Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi, President of the AIAC and of the jury of the 1st phase, consisting of 4 members of the RPBW office and 4 members of the Italian Association of Architecture and Criticism were also present.

A special joint mention was given to Elisa Dalla Vecchia, for the project of the “New Headquarters of Sisma s.p.a. - Piovene Rocchette (VI)”, and to Tomas Ghisellini for the project “The court of trees - new primary school – Cenate Sotto (BG )”.

The Premio Fondazione Renzo Piano award was established with the aim of promoting and enhancing quality architecture, addressed to Italian architects under the age of 40. The twelve finalists of the second edition have been included in the UTET book “italiArchitettura”.
