20/05/2013 - BCN Design Week, the annual event organised by BCD (Barcelona Design Centre), is back! This international event, focused on design, innovation and business, will gather again companies and professionals from any industry or productive services that use knowledge and creativity as a driver of its business activity.
Design allows us to adapt to change
Under the slogan “Design Vision 2050”, and coinciding with the 40th anniversary of BCD, the BCN Design Week has been reinvented for its eighth edition to expand its reach opening up to the city, and to find answers to the challenges we will face in the coming decades through design.
This edition will offer new activities addressed to a wide range of publics that will have the opportunity to interact, network and learn about the potential of design, innovation and creativity as a driver for change in several areas of society: health, habitat, consumption, entreneurship oreco-design, are among the topics to be discussed at the Barcelona Design Week 2013.
About 70 activities from 11 to June 21
For the first time the BCN Design Week will take place in June during 11 days, from 11 to June 21. The 70 activities included in its program will launch the third edition of theBarcelona Design Festival, a major event that seeks to place Barcelona as an international design capital.
The programme of activities will include the congress"Leading businesses towards 2050", lead by a diverse group of internationally renowned experts; the EcoDesign Day; the Design Investment Forum; the Pecha Kucha Design Night; the third edition of the Guest Country, participated by The Netherlands; the Design Services Market; the conference "Discover the Crowd universe!"; the BDW Circuits and the BDW Labs, activities about diverse topics addressed to the general public organised by design studios, amongst others.
After seven editions, the BCN Design Week hosted up to 160 renowned experts and over 8.000 attendees who have had the opportunity to learn, share and discuss various topics that mark the current agenda of the design and innovation sector. The 8th edition consolidates this international event as one of the major design weeks on the international calendar for promoting and discussing design.
Also in this edition, the BCD Design Week settles in a new venue: the Disseny Hub Barcelona.
Many activities will take place at this facility, which will be consolidated as the reference space for design in the city.
