“Japan Architecture Award—Architecture Awards for Everyone—” is a new architectural award selected by a nomination committee of about 30 professionals committed to communicating architecture to the general public and popular vote. In the first stage, the committee chose ten architectural works, completed or announced in 2023, that they are “passionate about communicating to the world”. It announced them as the Top 10 Greatest Architectural Works.
The entry that received the most "likes" during the voting period, from January 29 to February 11, was selected as the Grand Prize. The Agency for Cultural Affairs approves the Award's objective, which is to support public relations activities.
The following lists the 2024 Top 10 Greatest Architectural Works, selected by the nomination committee in the first stage (in the order of the Japanese syllabary, the work titles are followed by the names of primary architects).
