The villa of the famous designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana on Stromboli, one of the most beautiful islands of the Aeolian archipelago in Sicily, is up for sale. You can reach the island by helicopter as well as by boat.

The property - the sale of which has been exclusively entrusted to Lionard Luxury Real Estate - enjoys a unique position by the sea, with a breathtaking view of both the islet of Strombolicchio and of the volcano - known to the inhabitants as Iddu, ("He") - famous throughout the world for its "Sciara di fuoco" ("Stream of Fire") that illuminates the starry nights.

The residence was created as a fusion of three typical Aeolian dwellings and follows the progress of the jagged coast of volcanic rocks. Being then surrounded by terraces and lush gardens, with typical Mediterranean plants, the splendid residence also allows you to live in direct contact with the powerful nature of the island.

The property covers over 500 sqm, including 235 sqm of indoor space with seven suites, each in a different colour, and 300 sqm of lawn. The villa has been renovated according to the style and taste of the two designers, who have furnished it with the same love and passion that they put into designing their collections. The sumptuous furniture and their covers are uniquely produced and combined with local handicrafts (from hand-painted majolica to lace curtains), creating the unique Dolce & Gabbana lifestyle. The residence is in a location that enjoys absolute peace and quiet.

Dolce and Gabbana have spent their summers in this corner of Sicilian Paradise since the 1990s, organising memorable parties and hosting international stars. As is well known, the two designers nurture an unconditional love for Sicily, a constant and essential source of inspiration for their creations, and for the Aeolian Islands, which represent their deepest and most authentic essence.

Precisely in Stromboli, in 2014, two big names in Italian and international cinema, the Oscar-winning Paolo Sorrentino and Paolo Virzì, shot a commercial for a fragrance by the famous fashion house with actor Colin Farrell.

What made the indomitable beauty of Stromboli known to the world was the overwhelming love between Hollywood star Ingrid Bergman and director Roberto Rossellini, who filmed the masterpiece Stromboli, Land of God on the island in the summer of 1949. It all began a year earlier when the famous actress wrote a short letter to the director, who she knew from his films but had never met before. The letter happened to arrive on the very day of Rossellini's birthday, 7th of May 1948, and set his mind on fire, marking the end of his relationship with Anna Magnani. The wild beauty of Stromboli, made known to the general public by that memorable film, is still today one of the most distinctive features of this place, which is unique in the world.
