From 14th to 20th January 2013, 1200 companies from around 50 countries will be presenting over 100000 pieces of furniture and even more related items at the imm cologne. The exhibition showcases the enormous breadth and depth of products available for the furnishing sector and, thanks to concurrent LivingKitchen, everything to do with kitchens as well.
As in the past, imm cologne will be a showcase for new products. From the pure design segment to the staging of unusual interiors in pure village or the lavish booths in sleep, smart, comfort or prime.
LivingKitchen is where the trends and new product launches of the coming season are shown.
Four major Italian kitchen manufacturers - DADA (Molteni), Minotti Cucine, Lago and Riva 1920 - have decided on a joint presentation of their products under the motto "Ambiente Cucina".
The German kitchen furniture industry will be represented by numerous top firms such as Nobilia, Alno, Häcker, Nolte, Schüller, Bauformat, Leicht and many others, whilst the European market leaders of the built-in appliances sector will be represented almost in their entirety by the BSH Group (Bosch, Gaggenau, Neff, Siemens), Miele, Electrolux-AEG, Bauknecht Gorenje and the Beko Group from Turkey.
Besides Häcker, the first-time exhibitors will also include firms like Arrital Italy, Grattarola, Schiffini, Logos, Oster, SVEA Slovenia and Team 7 from Austria. The accessories sector will again be making a dazzling appearance with prominent firms such as Berbel, Blanco, Lechner, Cosentino from Spain and Franke.
Following London design team Doshi Levien’s successful launch of the new design event at the imm cologne 2012, the trade fair has nominated designer Luca Nichetto as its Guest of Honour for “Das Haus – Interiors on Stage 2013”.
“Das Haus” is the new imm cologne format for large-scale design installations. At its premiere in 2012, “Das Haus” turned into a real crowd-puller that fully justified its location in the midst of Pure Village, the trade fair’s lively forum for interior design. Under the title Pure, the imm cologne brings together presentations by brand-name manufacturers who feel a special commitment to design.
In his design, the Venetian designer focuses on solutions that are intended to enable occupants to live in direct contact with the plant world. The simple architecture of the “Haus”, which has been designed using natural materials and colours and creates a rather reserved impression, provides the setting for the furnishings, most of which are Luca Nichetto’s own designs.
