A masterpiece of shapes, colors, patterns and materials is the Resort "W Retreat & Spa" built in 2010 on the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico by Patricia Urquiola.
The energy and power of Caribbean colors that the Spanish designer has taken from nature and brought within the resort is emphasized by geometric forms sometimes soft but more often rigorous, result of pure virtual design.
The natural/artificial dualism is constantly proposed again: in the decisive use of hot materials, like wood and colored yarns, near upholstery patterns that look like an ode to mechanics and automation .... present in everyday items ... As to say "Let's take a break to relax and recover the lost forces living so frantically".
But this is the routine that we wanted because evidently we like that, as we like the harmonious balance of volumes of the furnishings in the resort, precise mirror of today living trends ..... just like well-being moments appropriately planned among many activities of modern life!
