A cover letter is an Ego Trip. Étienne Duval is a thirty year old architect who wants to work with Bjarke Ingels at BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group. He chose to do something different for the generic cover letter and attaching his cv and portfolio.

 

He put together a rap video as his application, rhyming about himself, his experience, skills and achievements as well as name dropping BIG’s principal himself, saying, “I want to meet Bjarke and his Hip Hop Ego…” .

 

 

Etienne said: "I began this application like an architectural project, by finding the key criteria and playing with it. A cover letter is an ego trip, so I thought about this hip hop video clips and told myself why wouldn't I do the same?"
