In Abu Dhabi, in the middle of the desert a private oasis appeared with a unique building that hosts the gym of the royal family. A mirage turned true with a likewise exclusive garden.
Sandrini’s task to create a lush and attractive view for those who are looking at it from the windows of the gym. Not only that, the garden design must also be functional for sports and, last but not least, for moments of relaxation.
The design:
The features of the surrounding landscape are truly unique: the absolute desert that stretches endless in every direction and the high walls that provide privacy and safety to the structure.
Within the walls the great contrast of a very lush garden as in a dream oasis.
The botanical choice was extremely accurate. In addition to trees with leafy foliage that create shade and improve the microclimate of the garden there is rich vegetation along the walls and climbing flowers. In total, in this space have found a place 46 among palms and other trees and 560 shrubs.
There were also refined materials such as Botticino marble from Italy and the Istrian stone, used for the stylish water feature at the centre of the garden that helps improving the climate and the pleasantness of this environment.
