Born on the island of Murano in 1953, Stefano Marcato graduated from college in restoration architecture of Venice in 1978. After having the opportunity to work with master Italian glass-maker, Lino Tagliapietra, Marcato developed his skills, which led him to specialize in the design of glass products. His professional activity has since been divided between the restoration of historic buildings (especially old Venetian pal-aces) and product design.
