Founder of STUDIO QI. She earned a Master of Architecture from Harvard University with a Peter Rice Fellowship, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with Distinction from Columbia University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and honored as Centennial Scholar. She attained her prior professional experiences at Renzo Piano’s Building Workshop in Genoa, Italy and at Foster+Partners in NYC. Shanshan Qi is currently a thesis advisor and studio critic at China Art Academy, and is currently working on her Doctoral degree with the eminent Professor Wang Shu.
SHANSHAN, believes “architecture is a way of thinking” and “a force for creativity” in which architecture is a media between the world and its inhabitants. As a woman in architecture, Shanshan believes and adheres to the credence that an architect should be a power for comprehensive responsibilities and sensibilities.
