Setsu Ito
Designer and Architect. After graduating in Japan at Tsukuba University, in 1989 he moved to Milan where first he worked for Studio Alchimia and then he collaborated with Angelo Mangiarotti. Since 1995, in partnership with Shinobu Ito, he has been working between Milan and Tokyo as a consultant for important companies. He has received various awards such as "The Young & Design Award 1999" (Italy), "The Good Design Award 2001" (Japan), "The Toyama Product Design Award 2001" (Japan), and the "ADI Design Index 2001, 2005" (Italy). Some of his pieces are included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Munich and the Triennale in Milan. He is a Visiting Lecturer in Milan at the Milan Polytechnic and at the Domus Academy, and at the Istituto Europeo di Design, and in Tokyo at the Tsukuba University and at the Tama Art University. His teaching reputation was recognized when he was awarded "The R.Bonetto Award 2002" (Italy).
