Graduated in Architecture at ESAP - Escola Superior Artística do Porto in 1986. He obtained the degree of "Doctor por la Universidad de Valladolid" by the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura of the University of Valladolid, Spain, in 2014.
Director of the Department of Architecture since 2020. Director of LIAD – Research Laboratory in Architecture and Design since 2015. Integrated researcher at LIAD, develops scientific activity in the field of Construction and Technologies.
Construction's and Technologies teacher of the Integrated Masters Course of Architecture since 1996. He was Vice President of the direction of CESAP - Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Artística do Porto.
He exercise the profession of Architect since 1986, having held numerous projects of diverse scope. He worked with Alcino Soutinho between 1987 and 1991.
