Sebastian Desch was born in Ried im Innkreis in 1974. Following his natural inclination towards design and the crafts, he transferred to the famous HTBLA Hallstatt on leaving school and began his five-year occupational training as engineer for interior design and furniture making – with furniture design as his specialization. At the same time he also trained in joinery and acquired valuable experience during several extended practicals or internships with technical firms and joiners. He began his career in an architectural firm where he worked with the project management, manifestly extending his professional horizons in planning and model construction at the same time. On joining TEAM 7, he was initially assigned to planning studios and exhibitions for dealers, as well as to styling exhibition attendances and photo sets. Since 2008 he has been responsible for TEAM 7's fundamental architectural brand image at the leading exhibitions in Cologne, Vienna, Milan and Kortrijk. A member of the in-house design team since 2009, Sebastian Desch primarily devotes his attention to products for the TEAM 7 ranges Kitchen and Living. In April 2010 the vao kitchen was presented to the trade public for the first time at the "Eurocucina" fair in Milan. In December 2010 it was selected by the Design Council (Rat für Formgebung) in Frankfurt am Main to win the interior innovation award 2011. All Sebastian Desch's designs focus on his love of wood and its presentation in unostentatious, elegant forms – totally in keeping with the TEAM 7 slogan:"Design meets nature".
