Sam Tisdall
Sam was educated at the university of Cambridge and the university of East London where he was one of two students selected to represent the school in Building Design’s annual review. He studied for his professional qualification at London South Bank and qualified as an Architect in 2004. He has been working on his own projects since then and set up Sam Tisdall Architects in 2008.
He has worked for various practices including Matthew Lloyd Architects where he cut his teeth as project Architect for a mixed range of mainly public clients. Projects included the design of a new primary school in Tower Hamlets, two blocks of key worker housing in Hackney and proposals for the redevelopment of London Fields Lido, as well as numerous smaller projects.
He has freelanced for Cottrell & Vermeulen (2012 education Architect of the year), Urban Salon and Gort Scott where he was project Architect leading the remodelling and extension of a 5 storey listed townhouse in Mayfair into a retail and art gallery space.
He has been an invited critic at Cambridge, Brighton, London Metropolitan and East London universities.
He also designs and builds furniture and lives with his wife and two daughters in West London.
