Roland Graf
Roland Graf is an Austrian artist and designer who has a tremendous passion for simplicity and playful creation. In fact, his way of working and thinking is not so different from the many hours he spent as a child in his grandfather’s workshop, which he used as a playground. Back then, he was driven by imagination and experimentation. Today, he still is. Graf has created several works currently available on the commercial market and he is an artist/co-founder of the collective Assocreation, which seeks to engage the public in its relationship to the earth, the body, and society. Assocreation’s work includes a series of actions and interactive installations, which were presented, among others, at the Jack the Pelican Gallery in Brooklyn (NY), Fabrica Gallery Brighton (UK), the Bienal de Valencia (Spain), the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz (Austria), Istanbul 2010 - European Capital of Culture (Turkey), as well as in the streets of New York, Warsaw, Zurich, Copenhagen and Paris. Prior to joining the School of Art & Design faculty in 2011, Graf served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Spatial and Sustainable Design at the Vienna University of Technology.
