The skyscraper of 20 floors counts 152 residence apartments, 2 wellness centres and a SPA with 2 external swimming pools, restaurant, beauty centre, bar, lounge and business centre. The building is located in “Dubai Marina”, an area of the city characterized by an artificial canal. Nearby the skyscraper one can find a tourist port , shops, coffee shops and other activities. The strategic area is located between the beach of Jumeriah and Media City, connecting the two souls of the city, the one alloyed to business and the other one closer to tourism. The complex is named VQ Ventiquattro Radisson SAS Residence - Dubai Marina and is owned by a society in Kuwait, “Abyaar real estate and Development” which has important real estate investments planned. (1.4 billion dollar within 3 years) Lobby. The inspiration for the Lobby design was given by the big Egyptian monumental constructions, rigorous, rich, but essential and also refined. The Lobby almost 6 meters high, more than 30 meters long and about 17 meters wide is completely covered with travertine marble. The marble tiles are placed with attached flights, without any plaster, and put down randomly in three different formats (60x60, 30x60, 15x60) to obtain a moderate but refined decoration. The main front is completely in travertine, cut by big vertical light flows going through the entire height. It was realized modifying the model SLOT, by “Fontanaarte”, by inserting a continues light with the LED technology. In this way the harsh monumentality of the marble is alleviated thanks to these light flows creating an unexpected dimension and prospective. On the floor there are two big pools covered in black marble (black absolute) and illuminated with directional LED lights which create a magical effect on the water surface. The water pools were thought to create a dialogue with the traditional Arabic architecture. The doors are realized full-height in rosewood, almost 6 meters high, and backlit with LED light strips The reception designed by the Studio Matteo Nunziati is covered in hide leather and bronze, characterized by a motif which reminds the geometrical decoration of the walls in marble. Behind the reception the Studio Nunziati designed two big bronze panels (3 meters X 80cm) inspired by traditional Arabic handwriting. The centre of the lobby contains two big libraries, custom designed by the Studio Nunziati, full height of almost 6 meters, covered in hide leather and lacquered wood with illuminated niches. The realization of the reception, the two panels behind it and the two libraries were entrusted to “Essemme”, a firm from Siena, specialized in supplying special custom made furniture for luxury showrooms (Tom Ford, Gucci). The sofas and the armchairs in the lobby are produced by Matteograssi. The technical and decorative lights are produced by Fontanaarte. In the center two big carpets in wool and silk from “Altai” are placed, handmade in Uzbekistan, with an exclusive decoration designed by the Studio Matteo Nunziati which recalls the design of the decorative pattern on the walls, the reception and the libraries. The curtains are full-height realized with a particular fabric characterized by a refined embossed pattern, a product produced by the firm “Brand”. For the furniture, the Studio Matteo Nunziat imagined an immense domestic living, an ambiance which makes one feel at home, where one is invited to read a book or simply relax. A place where one feels far away, out of place, but at the same time where one easily creates a dialogue with the surrounding objects and atmosphere. Bathroom. The bathrooms in the lobby are covered in travertine marble, a product from “Mariotti Savema”. The washbasin “Yume”, designed by Matteo Nunziati and the mirror with an integrated LCD screen are produced by “Rapsel. Corridors. The corridors main characteristics are the entrance doors to the apartments, realized in rosewood and backlit with LED technology. The floor is covered with carpeting produced by “Louis De Poortere”, with monochromatic stripes blended with the wall paper. This product was custom designed for this project by the Studio Nunziati. The Studio Matteo Nunziati created a characteristic effect using the specific doors and adding decorative arches, backlit with LED technology. The final result is an ambiance where the light and reflection create new and stimulating glimpses to maintain a calm and cosy atmosphere. Wellness center – Swimming pool - Terrace. There are two wellness centers, a masculine on the third floor and a feminine on the first floor to respect the islamic traditions. The wellness center on the third floor is characterized by large terrace with two swimming pools. The terrace is covered in “Ecotech”, a ceramic material produced by “Group Florim”, and teak. The interior of the swimming pool, for the first time in Dubai, is covered in “Ecotech” (format 60x60). The overflow of the water around the pools is created by a hidden system designed by the Studio Nunziati. Two long light lines mark the perimeter along the side of the swimming pools. To obtain the continuous light effect the Studio Matteo Nunziati used the model “Raso” by “Fontanaarte”. In the center of the terrace are two pergolas with a bar and a lounge realized in teak, designed by the Studio Nunziati The floor and the “boiserie” in the gym are realized in “zebrano” wood, produced by “Listone Giordano”. On the walls are two lacquered mirrors with an integrated LCD screen. The work-out equipments is by ”Tecnogym”. The changing rooms are covered in “Alulife”, a particular aluminum of Italian production, giving an extremely innovative and exclusive effect. Apartments: There are 152 apartments in total, already furnished with furniture, lights, bathroom, coverings, etc, all “Made In Italy”. There are three principal dimensional typologies: Studio 50 sqm. 1 bedroom 70 sqm. 2 bedroom 110 sqm. From the first to the 10th floor the Studio Matteo Nunziati used “Poliform” for the wardrobes, the furniture and all the padded furniture, “Varenna” and for the kitchen. The essences used are ovangkol and lacquered wood. From the 11th to the 20th floor the Studio Matteo Nunziati used Group FEG for the wardrobes, the furniture and all the padded furniture, and “Salvarani” for the kitchen. The essences used are ebony, wengé, teak and lacquered wood. For the “Salvarani” kitchen, the Studio Matteo Nunziatie selected the model “High-Teak” from the catalogue and adapted it to the project. In the one - and two - bedroom apartments the snack counter, designed by Matteo Nunziati, gives a characteristic sign dividing the kitchen area from the living area. The characteristic of this element are the asymmetrical lines, marking the entire operation of the space. The chairs and stools “Tweety” are by “Matteograssi”, designed for this project, thought as a new system of printing to contain the production costs. All the apartments have a contemporary style, but the atmosphere is willingly cosy and reassuring. All apartment typologies have at least one decorative wall in ceramic tiles, model “Globe” produced by “Florim Group” The characteristic of the ceramic tiles is the bush workmanship of the surface. To exalt this specific effect, the Studio Matteo Nunziati the wall is illuminated with a radiant light, model “Raso” by Fontanaarte. The result is a decorative contemporary wall, in which the tactile effect of the surface draws the space and creates a soft and natural ambience. To emphasize the effect the Studio Matteo Nunziati inserted a carpeting by “Louis De Poortere” with a moderate embossed décor in nuance with the ceramic and the color of the walls. The washbasin “Nami” designed by the Studio Matteo Nunziati and produced by Rapsel is used in all the apartments. The ceramic tiles “Globe” by “Floor Gres” (Group Florim) is used for the flooring, conferring to the atmosphere an austere and elegant character. All the apartments are illuminated with decorative and technical lights produced by “Fontanaarte”, such as the model “Ivory” designed by the Studio Matteo Nunziati.
