Life around the kitchen Integrating materials Bamboo and metal kitchen- materials for living spaces space | materials | essence The kitchen island designed by Howard Journo is made inside and out from full bamboo boards in the color of espresso. The top surface is a thin zinc sheet in aged patina. The island combines storage and sitting places, and stands in front of a tall stainless steel wall cupboard. The combination of the cold metal and warm bamboo is the basic element of the kitchen. Materials are worked with a particular care and respect, interweaving in their most basic natural form to create the Open Code essence of Kne’Kash.
