Solverde Espinho 2015 is a strategic vision for one of the complex’s owned by the Solverde group, more specifically in the city of Espinho, combining a Casino and a Apart-hotel with retail area, occupying the area of two city blocks in the city center, next to the ocean front. This work focuses on the reflection over the initiatives that may be undertaken by the Solverde group, while a private entity, in their action for the promotion and development of its business areas, within and integrated framework with the community and local governance, capable of ignite the city urban regeneration and the local economy growth and competitiveness. Embodying, this way, a new model for urban regeneration sustainable initiatives which, with the new EU financing and investment policies for cities and urban areas, namely the JESSICA program, may see the needed conditions fulfilled for its realization, making this work notoriously relevant in time. Two structural vectors have emerged for the presented proposal: guidance to the attraction of foreign visitors, and to promote the establishment of businesses and companies sustained in the highly qualified professionals who reside in the city and others who may be achieved. Thus, combining these vectors with Solverde’s activity and real-estate assets in the city, emerges the strategic vision presented here – Solverde Espinho 2015 – materialized in 4 interventions to achieve the aspiration for the city as a European Destination, being the implementation of a business center, the casino image transformation into an iconic building, changing the character of the apart-hotel and the intervention on the surrounding public realm and accessibilities.
