First and foremost sculptural, this design is made from a square or rectangular plan that turns around itself four times, four being the number of sides constituting the basic plan. The originality of this concept comes from the fact that the revolution of each plan occurs on the adjacent side of the previous plan and not on the opposite side as per usual. Presented on one of its non-planeside, the object leans naturally recovering its own dynamic sculptural nature. However, clip is planned in order to recover its horizontality if desired. In this position, the sculpture in then usable for instance as a review rack or desk accessory. Uncluttered and open, the design offers many practical applications in various almost unlimited contexts. Indeed thanks to the materials employed for its fabrication, the HI-MACS®, solid surface (natural acrylic stone) and Plexiglas® PMMA, the furniture can be used in and outdoors. The items are artisanaly manufactured in HI-MACS® of 12mm thick. The different parts are thermo-shaped and glue assembled. The jointures are invisible and will remain so for ever. The design concessions consisted in responding to mechanical constraints and comfort challenges. The aim being to keep at all costs the « ligne GUFF » line, Plexiglas® PMMA cylinders of 100mm diameter (75mm for the coffee-table) have been integrated under the seat of the armchair to bear a weight of up to 100kg and a thermo-shapped Plexiglas® PMMA seat back 6mm thick, incorporated in order to avoid back discomfort which would be felt by the thin structures of the initial design. Therefore the « ligne GUFF » remains pure, these added elements being completely transparent.
