ORIENT EXPRESS - French Restaurant - 2009

Orient Express, French Restaurant : Consulting (architectural style advice + Interior Design) Client : Orient Express. Project time: 2 months. Orient Express is a French restaurant on the famous Shamian Island in Guangzhou (China). We gave advices on the architecture style, made the legal architecture documents for the governments approval before construction, gave advice for the colors of the trains, and the inside decoration. The main challenge was to make this huge restaurant look cozy and comfortable. We did it with bringing bright warm colors, finding the good balance for the best interaction between color and space. A bar was designed to divide the huge interior room between a restaurant and a lounge part. As the all space is sometimes needed for big companies parties or weddings, the bar is mounted on wheels, so it can move. Then came the designs of all the huge walls posters. Keeping the main idea of travel and main stop stations of the train Orient Express.
