The office / home is on two levels, on the first and second floor of a building in the historic center of Genoa. On the first floor there is the office, a long empty space that culminates with an arched window protected by an ancient railing, perspectively placed in continuity with the system of arcades which enclose the historical city in its border towards the ancient port. This space is characterized by the presence of a long-equipped furniture that runs along the windowed wall and the metallic desks on wheels, custom-made. On the opposite wall, five sliding panels hide the utility rooms: a maquette room, a kitchen, the toilet. Upstairs, a large vaulted hall houses the bedroom and the study/relax area. All finishes allude to the precariousness of the construction yard, a result never definitive but evolving day by day, through the work that these spaces host every day: so the enamelled iron rods, the chipboard panels and the vault plastered with rough plaster upstairs find a balance and a dialogue with the peculiarities that already belonged to these rooms, such the big vault, the checkerboard floor, but also the woodden slab supported by ancient ship trees and the redundant railing of the arched window. [IT] L’ufficio/casa si sviluppa su due livelli, al primo e secondo piano di un edificio del centro storico di Genova. Al primo piano si trova l’ufficio vero e proprio, un lungo vano libero che culmina con un’apertura ad arco protetta da una inferriata storica, collocata in continuità prospettica con il sistema di portici che cingono la città storica nel suo confine verso il porto antico. Questo spazio è caratterizzato dalla presenza di un lungo mobile attrezzato che corre lungo la parete finestrata, su cui si innestano i tavoli da lavoro su ruote realizzati in metallo, su apposito disegno. Sulla parete opposta, cinque pannelli scorrevoli nascondono i vani di servizio: un antro dei modelli, una cucina, i servizi igienici. Al piano superiore, una grande sala voltata ospita la camera da letto e la zona studio/relax. Tutte le finiture alludono alla precarietà del cantiere, di un risultato mai definitivo ma in evoluzione giorno per giorno, attraverso il lavoro che quotidianamente questi spazi ospitano: così i tondini smaltati, il truciolare da cantiere e la cementite grezza con cui è stata intonacata la volta del piano superiore trovano un equilibrio e un dialogo con le peculiarità che questi locali portavano in dote, come la grande volta, appunto, il pavimento a scacchiera ad essa sottostante, ma anche il solaio in legno sorretto da antichi alberi di nave e la ridondante inferriata della finestra ad arco.
