A monumental statue entitled "The Elimo Hero", a work by the sculptor Igor Mitoray, has been placed outside the Loggiato di San Bartolomeo, on the city's seafront.
The monument was inaugurated, at the same time as the exhibition "Angels, Myths and Heroes", on 13 April 2007 in the presence of the sculptor artist Igor Mitoraj.
A careful study was undertaken in the design phase of the base of the statue. The choice of shape and material used allowed for an adequate placement, given the considerable dimensions of the monument itself.
