This is a kindergarten and nursery school. The building is divided into two main groups for functional and aesthetical purposes. The ground floor is occupied by older children where as the top floor is designated for toddlers. The ground floor is monolithic and compact as it functions as a base for the lighter top floor. It has playful square windows in the perimeter. The top floor is constituted by a cluster of wooden tree-house like buildings with corresponding openings. The main and taller wooden building in the middle serves as the connecting point of the two floors where the stairs and elevators are situated. Another important element is the playgrounds large wooden cover that resembles tree foliage. The design objective was to create an unexpected and playful building with great respect to the main user, the children! In collaboration with Maria Bitou (Architect).
