The growth of "Place of Caçães", like other rural clusters, arises from a compact core and develops "grabbed" the lines of communication in a dispersed.
The existing buildings have predominant features such as volume and organization with an internal courtyard built in regional yellow granite and the proposal takes the clear position of preserving what is unique, with symbolism and historical heritage, and "clean" the additions and interventions later that distorted the existing. Thus is obtained to continue the natural growth of the building to meet the needs of the present without forgetting the rural and local references long statements.
This expansion comes through a new body built on a lightweight sober Finished noble and that will include a living room, a multi-functional space designed and built for the growing family and comfort and is characterized by large glass surfaces to contemplation of the natural surroundings.
The project preserves the characteristics of the region, with the use of materials that reflect natural color and materiality, keeping the yellow granite in sight as emblematic of the story of the house, as well as all exterior openings where only your frames will be replaced.
It is therefore an "timely and silent" intervention where the volume and choice of materials demand the neutrality of the constructed "versus" the biological matrix and found materials.




O crescimento do “Lugar de Caçães” à semelhança de outros aglomerados rurais surge de um núcleo compacto e desenvolve-se ”agarrado” às vias de comunicação de forma dispersa.
As edificações existentes possuem características preponderantes, como a volumetria e organização com um pátio interno construído em granito amarelo da região e a proposta assume a clara posição de preservar o que é original, com valor histórico e simbolismo patrimonial, e “limpar” os acrescentos e intervenções posteriores que desvirtuaram o existente. Desta forma consegue-se dar continuidade ao crescimento natural da edificação como resposta às necessidades actuais sem esquecer as referências rurais e locais há muito consolidadas.
Essa ampliação surge através de um novo corpo sóbrio construído numa estrutura leve com acabamento nobre e que irá incluir uma sala de estar, num espaço multi-funcional construído a pensar no crescimento da família e no conforto, caracterizando-se pelas grandes superfícies em vidro para contemplação da envolvente natural.
O projecto preserva as características da região, com a utilização de materiais que traduzam materialidade e cor naturais, mantendo o granito amarelo à vista como marca simbólica da história da casa, bem como todos os vãos exteriores, onde apenas será substituída a sua caixilharia.
É portanto uma intervenção “silenciosa e pontual”, onde a volumetria e escolha dos materiais procura a neutralidade do construído “versus” a matriz biológica e material encontrada.
