The LC 2 created by Le Corbusier in 1928 has become a standard in contemporary furniture and has been repeatedly copied or misappropriated. It is our turn to crack to offer a new version of the famous chair.
rereading For this, we close with a problem related to the conservation of architectural works of Le Corbusier . Indeed many of these buildings no longer fulfill their function original use, for example recently the roof of the Radiant city became a center of contemporary art, the Mamo .
The LC 2 is a chair, it is natural to sit comfortably, also this new version we called LC 0 chair is deprived of his seat and thus its initial function chair. However it is possible to sit but the removal of the feet makes sitting uncomfortable and unstable. At first glance, this mutation does not appear to alter the plastic side chair but it is a matter of perspective.
Changing the use of a building for its preservation is much more complex when it comes to group housing or private as in the case of group homes Frugès modern neighborhoods . But behind this museumification places, there is a struggle to recognize the architecture of the modern movement as a prominent part of the story and allow buildings to be recognized as a heritage. There are not that old stones that marked history. We treated this subject through a temporary installation to transform one of the houses of the city Frugès in Castle to show the historical importance of this place .
