Tianjin International Airport

The new airport of Tianjin Tanggu is part within the broader proposal for a new vision of the future call Tianjin Eco-city, a thriving city that is socially harmonious, environmentally friendly and efficient from the point of view of resources, a model of sustainable development. The airport is located near the sea and more specifically within an area characterized by saline. Access is by the director of roads to the north-east. The junction that leads the terminal runs parallel inside of the slopes, bifurcating to better distribute the flow inlet and outlet. The uncovered car parks are located along the access roads, 2,000 on the right side, 2,000 on the left side and 1,000 in front of the entrance, lowered of 5 meters, the remaining 2,000 are placed under this one, with access direct from the streets of distribution of the terminal. The entrance opens onto a square that has large green areas with trees. The entrance hall has a large window that allows the traveler to enjoy the vast green areas immediately around the airport and prepared to serve as a meeting place for both travelers and potential visitors. Inside, Green oasis allow to have a break and economic activity represented by the stores make it more lively the social life. The gates are distributed to both sides of the terminal of the airport for domestic flights, and on an island, connected to the terminal by a sky-walk, for international flights. The ENVIRONMENTAL Sustainability has been solved with the use of large green spaces, places both inside and outside and the use of alternative energy sources. The roof of terminal is mostly covered with photovoltaic panels to ensure self-sufficiency. Large roof vents provide natural light to enter; insulation systems and wings, covered with turf, mitigate the temperature, cooling the building naturally, greatly reducing the use of traditional energy sources.
