CoHousing

The project is based on the declination of a module, the cube of 8m side, chosen for its flexibility in terms of forms, for its possibility to operate on various plastic dispositions and, above all, for its favorable possibilities in terms of inner organization and exposure of the façades. Along with the compositive and typological search, the aspect of social sustainability has been strongly privileged in the form of a cohousing project: this program heads at the creation of a nucleus of common activities and of an inner organization, directed to the youngest generations and newly formed families. The choice of this topic affects the project, characterizing all the typological issues and the functional choices. As a consequence, the conception of common open spaces becomes crucial into the design process: these spaces are a sort of bond along the various inhabited units. The aim of the open spaces has been therefore directed towards two main topics: on one side, the choice of cohousing, that has led to the creation of gardens and recreational spaces and, on the other side, the sustainability, that has led to the recovery and the exploitation of rain waters thanks to the rain garden system.
