RESTAURANT – Liguria, Alassio Surface 160 mq An old workshop perched high up on the hills rising steeply behind Alassio, a well-know resort on the Ligurian coast, has been entirely rebuilt in order to house this establishement. Thus the splendid position on the old building, which overlooks the bay, has obviously heavily influenced the choises made in relation to its renovation. The distinctly longitudinal orientation of the layout has led to the functions being redistributed sequentially; the kitchen in followed by the dining-room and then the large terrace, where food i salso served in the summer months. A staircase leards from the central room to the lower level, where a large service area has been built. Although, along the whole lenght of the dining-room, large windows provide a magnificent view of the sea from all tables, the interior design tends to eschew the seaside theme in favor of a more sophisticated setting. La straordinaria posizione del vecchio edificio, che domina il golfo, è ovviamente divenuta la chiave per definire le scelte compositive. L’orientamento spiccatamente longitudinale dell’impianto è stato oggetto di una ridistribuzione sequenziale delle funzioni: alla cucina segue la sala interna e senza soluzione di continuità il grande terrazzo anch’esso destinato ai tavoli durante i mesi estivi. Dall’ambiente centrale una scala conduce al livello sottostante dove è stata ricavata un’ampia zona servizi. Per l’intera lunghezza della sala ristorante ampie vetrate permettono di godere da tutti i tavoli del magnifico panorama sul mare ma il disegno degli interni non tende a enfatizzare suggestioni marinaresche per delineare piuttosto un’ambientazione sofisticata.
