Energetic demands on the building shell are increasing. OKASOLAR F from insulating glass manufacturer OKALUX is a cutting-edge light deflection system for energy-efficient building shells.
Scientifically designed louvers of coated steel effectively help optimize the energy balance of a building. The section of the light deflecting profiles is extremely narrow – requiring only 16 mm in the cavity. That is why OKASOLAR F is especially well-suited for use in triple-glazing and narrow insulating pane configurations. The horizontal transparency has been improved to 57%.
OKALUX has developed two different types of louvers to effectively regulate the light conditions in the interior. OKASOLAR F U is used in the lower area of the glazing. Up to a height of about 1.80 m the special U section of the profiles deflects the main part of the solar input to the outside. In the upper area of the glazing OKASOLAR F directs the daylight deep into the room. The perfect interplay of both types optimizes the light conditions in the buildings. The even illumination reduces the need for artificial light resulting in lower energy costs. In addition, the cooling load is decreased due to the considerable reduction of heat input. Used in triple-glazing, OKASOLAR F U reaches values up to 0.6 W/m²K, in double-glazing up to 1.1 W/m²K. The daylight deflection system not only improves the energy balance of a building – it also creates a pleasant atmosphere in the interior ensuring a high degree of user comfort.
