In the heart of the Parioli neighborhood in Rome, the project will accommodate a luxury oriental day-spa, contained within a wood volume suspended and projecting over the street. A small traditional pre-existing two-floor villa without quality has been completely transformed in a contemporary key. The result has been reached by a rationalization of the existing volumes, togetherr with a new wood covering which works as thermic regulator.

The new shape, backed from the street and rotated in respect to it, configures itself as a wooden box with closed sides and a windowed front cantilivered on the street.

The first level, backed in respect to the second one, is hidden from the road by an enclosure of horizontal timber gratings, so that the projected volume of the second level seems to levitate above the sidewalk apparently without support.  A case of regeneration of an existing building in a contemporary sense in Rome.
