materials for living spaces:
For Shikun & Binui headquarters, Mayslits Kassif Architects chose to use bamboo as a leading material. The HQ office building is the first in Israel to receive a LEED-GOLD in Interior design and industrial buildings category for sustainability. The use of bamboo in its diverse manifestations enabled a variety of uses throughout the space: bamboo parquet was used in the conference rooms. The workstations scattered around each floor were divided with square bamboo panels. The carpentry of the kitchenettes, lobby desk and main offices are made of bamboo engineered boards. The different textures of bamboo begins with the selection of material followed by research and development up to the implementation that is fitted uniquely to each need.
The materials we use at KNE’KASH are manufactured to comply with Green Building
Standards in order to reduce the overall impact of construction and
building on human health and the natural environment. New technologies
are constantly being developed in order to create greener materials
from rapidly renewing sources to be applied in green building projects.
