GIRAFFE | floor lamp | BERNHARD | BURKARD

The Swiss design studio BERNHARD | BURKARD designed a floor lampe that looks alike a Giraffe. It follows both principle of functional and iconic design. The lever of the lamp works with a system of scissors in a curved shape. This technical innovation makes it flexible and very adaptable in any situation. It can be used as both reading lamp and spot light. The straight sicssors princip has been used for lamps on working context since the beginning of last century by several companies such B.A.G. or Belmag. The contemporary design of a freestanding lamp with the wooden legs brings the GIRAFFE | floor lamp in very unique field. The combination of the functional parts made from metal and the wood transforms the technical design in a modern living room context. It is an iconic piece in between traditional pricips and contemporary design. The GIRAFFE | floor lamp is made from aluminium and steal. All parts are powder coated in black color. The legs are hand made from local ash wood. Currently we are looking for a producer and distibutor for the lamp.
