Aran knitting is a sculpture of yarn. Its simple tequniques produce various attractive patterns. This yarn sculpture could be a new way to carve doors. We introduce Knitted Door series, using aran knitting for door panel. In daylights, the door looks sculptural, and even it gives you warm feeling. At night, lights shine through the knitted panels and etch the shape of the patterns. These prototypes are using flush structure, made of painted basswood plywood. The knit parts are made of ramie. Ramie has the highest tension strength compared to other natural plantfiber, and become stronger when it gets wet.
