BACKGROUND Printing is certainly one of the inventions that has influenced human history the most, especially in the western world. Printing has allowed access to culture and information but also it has introduced a way to reproduce and share ideas of human beings over the centuries. Since almost 800 years man has changed his way of knowing and communicating through the different techniques of printed duplication. Development process and accelerations introduced into the world of knowledge continues to lead to new frontiers. Thanks to typography, the printing made his way more and more worldwidely. The massive press era began. Press is no longer limited to newspapers or publishers, but it is used every day in business and at household level. Printing is still a very useful tool for all of us, but with the revolution of the digital era, where sharing dramatically increases evolutionary scenarios of humanity, its use is experiencing a massive change. While printing on paper is becoming less competitive, the printing process is approaching new horizons: the three-dimensional reproduction. The introduction of 3D printing is leading humanity toward a second great revolution in printing. In fact, when the first machines for 3D printing began to circulate in the mid-80's,, few people were willing to bet that this technology had a chance to drive a real revolution in manufacturing. The Digital Crafting is a great opportunity to support the creative power of man, which now has several channels to materialize it, such as FabLabs, Open Source communities, Social Networks, which are the real catalysts of this revolution. Our vision inaugurates the beginning of a new era: the printing architecture, as a natural revolution of this process. Today the possibility of printing buildings is no longer science fiction, but, since a few years, a research topic. CONCEPT Printer Skyscraper fits in this context as a skyscraper generator, which is able to shape easily even the most complex construction. This is a real revolution in the way of conceiving, not only architecture, but also its social impact. A "Deus ex Building", an urban 3D printer, a removable machine, temporarily settled by the people, fits in the urban landscape as the place of a shared building creation, but above all a community creation. In this era, where technology opens new boundaries in social and digital relationships, it's necessary to recreate contacts and a sense of belonging in our own community. Our everyday digital devices let us feel as actors in this intense flow. Community increasingly becomes a real ideas factory, and soon it will be able to shape its dwelling place, taking part in the designing and building processes. Man will stop adapting to the huge growth of the city where he feels himself more and more as a guest. Printer Skyscraper is a “technological and hyper-connected favela”, where citizens take part in the creation of their home, sharing this experience with their neighbors, shaping with them their spaces in order to turn skyscraper into a relational ecosystem. The act of taking part in a process is extremely contemporary and it entails a huge confidence and awareness in people. In this way architects are devoted to lose their role. They will become drivers and supporters of the citizens not only in the creation and construction of the building, but also in its whole lifetime. Printer Skyscraper portrays the present but above all the future, celebrating man as a relational human being, as an artisan, a creator and a communicator.
