Essence by Sanserif Creatius

The promotion of the Valencian crafts and the boosting of the relationship between designers and artisans are the arguments on which Sanserif Creatius have builded their nomination to the National Crafts Awards, confered by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism of Spain. The nomination of Sanserif Creatius to National Crafts Awards, in the category of Private promotion entities, has been endorsed by several public institutions, under the auspices of the Craft Centre of Valencia, following the promising results of Essence program, an exhibition driven by this creative team, which has opened new lines of business to twenty community artisans. Essence by Sanserif Creatius is an exhibition in constantly updating process in which, under the premise of respecting the traditional process of production and materials, a designer incorporates new ideas and product lines in order to open new markets and / or give appropriate responses to the needs of citizens, for example by adapting a technique like the "encaje de bolillos" to create bags that inhibit smartphones signal or extending the life of a bottle of wine making a collection of cups and glasses with a very contemporary and eclectic aesthetic. The program also aims to promote the sustainability of traditional production processes and recovery of natural raw materials for the manufacture of product. In fact, the project allows the hybridization or combination of different processes or materials that are respectful with the environment, have a low impact and / or are recycled or recyclable, thus opening new product lines and leveraging these benefits or values, as explained Ana Yago, creative director of Essence. Sanserif Creatius will compete in the seventh edition of the National Crafts Awards, managed by the Spanish Foundation for Innovation of Crafts (Fundesarte), with the projects presented by the Association of Artisans of Aragón and the Federation of Artisans of Castilla y León (Foacal).
