This family apartment has been slightly modified to fit the needs of a young couple. The architectural intervention are reduced to a minimum, they mainly focus on the entrance of the house, the living room and the kitchen. In the 60's, houses were built in Italy with similar styles and finishes. A typical feature was the hall, a small room in the entrance, separated from the house by doors. The young couple moving into the apartment wanted living room and kitchen to be separated and the entrance to become peculiar of their soon to be home. So, the wall that separated the hall from the corridor has been demolished, leaving space for a cosy cupboard. The height has been reduced with new soffits, designed to accommodate LED stripes and recessed LED spotlight. Furniture in the kitchen and living room is in shade of grey and blue to match the blue radiator at the entrance. To reduce costs all the new intervention were made using plasterboard walls. The flooring has been changed only in the kitchen, and renovated or completed in the other part of the house. A peculiar feature of this house is the Skateboard museum, a room where the owner’s skateboard collection is exhibited. Photos by ROBERTO FADDA and ELISA PRESTIA
