The house is on the only hill overlooking the Atlantic on the Uruguayan coast. The brief was to maximize the enjoyment of the panoramic view and to give the clients' private quarters total privacy and independence from family or guests during their holidays. The house is in La Pedrera village, on one of the two main roads, where most houses fill their site edge to edge. Although the house is free-standing, it was decided create a single volume, in harmony with the rest of the street, and to maintain what remains of the first construction in the village, at the front of the house. The house is on two floors. On the ground are the double height entrance hall leading to a games and TV area, four bedrooms for family and guests, and garage and staff areas. On the first floor is the main living space open to sea views on three sides, and the client's quarters. The same materials are used inside and outside: rendered walls, polished concrete floors, and Baltic pine.
