probstei school, zurich
new sanitary facilities and kitchen in a listed school pavilion Zurich / Switzerland / 2009
2
The Probstei school in Zurich was built from 1945 - 51 by Albert Heinrich Steiner. It's the first pavilion school in the city and listed as a monument. One of the pavilions was converted in to a small school for handicapped children. The original wooden interior was preserved and contrasts now nicely with the new kitchen. The sanitary facilities had to be completely renewed and adapted to the new requirements. The colour scheme uses shades that blend in with the 50s style of the architecture.
