Barcelona / Spain / 2012

The project solves an atypical program on a plot at corner in the Eixample of Barcelona: 53 smalls dwellings and commercial activity on the ground floor. The resulting volume is a pentagonal prism with four open façades.
The distributive scheme consist of two build-up bands of different depths, separated by a central courtyard articulated by vertical access block.
The formal complexity of the project is the result of the fold oriented North, that respects the alignment of the XIX century in Barcelona.
The element most characteristic of the image of the building is the vertical cut at the same corner that shows the dialogue of the two bands and overlooks the inner courtyard light.
