The Site The house is situated on a plot in Galamares, Sintra region. Its urban surroundings several houses and a breathtaking view of the northern slope of the Sierra where one sees the Palace of Monserrate and the forest that surrounds it. The Land With a size of 2435m2, oriented to the south, has as main feature the steep slope with differences of around nine meters. The vegetation is locally sourced and has several pine that enrich their nature. The idea concept The basic concept is to build a "house / cottage" surrounded by the Serra de Sintra. The house, in an area of ​​steep slope, is perfectly integrated in the surrounding area without resorting to excessive volumetric both inside and outside the house. The exterior design of the roofs that extend the garden to anyone who enters the property and the choices of materials were critical to the solution it proposes to build in this area. The purpose and value of dwelling landscape and make this house a serene place to live. The landscaping, the roofs that extend the garden and the materials are key factors in this project. It is intended to build a house that values ​​the day-to-day and enjoy the surroundings. The Program This is a single family dwelling divided by three levels. Downstairs are located two bedrooms with a bathroom and closet, pantry, technical areas and a large porch devoted to socializing with direct connection to the garden. Outside builds up a pool of freeboard, a garden area and a bench / staircase linking the two levels of the house in order to enjoy the views of the Sierra and the most favorable solar orientation, South This area becomes an area very pleasant to stay and connects directly to the living room on the upper floor, the dining area and parking lot. Construction With a reinforced concrete structural base, the house is built in three planes. With regard to energy, the solution will be sustainable and adequate maintenance to the region and its users, devices using the latest technology with the goal of optimized management of their resources.
