This competition winning project involved the renovation of a paper-mill. The refurbishment of the buildings and the construction of additional elements made it possible to provide a school and neighbourhood services. All the buildings face onto an internal courtyard converted into a public square and garden. A new glazed semi-circular link block also provides natural weather protection, without compro-mising the overall visual impact of the architecture. Natural materials have been used, as well as initiatives that employ renewable resources.
