Design for a multi-tenant office building in a green area of Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district. The building consists of different pavilions which houses various companies. The pavilions are joined together by two tapering concrete discs that form “the vein” of the building. At the rear side the plot adjoins a cemetery. Therefore the back of the vein has a closed character. The pavilions are formed in a stealth-like architecture – autonomous objects in a green zone. The vein at the back connects the different pavilions and facilitates meeting and lounge areas for common use. The pavilions itself are private boxes which can be entered through the vein. At the top end of the building is a semi-private meeting room which overlooks the green area. A shared facility which can be used by the residing companies when needed. The ground floor has an open character with a public restaurant which can be used for more informal business-meetings.
