‘Stone House’ , designed by +2ARCHITECTS|nikoloudaki-kokorelia|, is situated at the edge of a small village in Mount Parnassos, Greece. The House is a composition of traditional architectural elements of the area with a contemporary juxtaposition. Sloped roofs have been combined with large openings, offering views of the surrounding forest. The views are further enhanced by the layout and positioning of each room. Materials such as stone, concrete and metal have been used in minimal lines, giving a modern but warm character to the interior. The family’s request for a ‘hospitable home’ has played an important role to the design. The ground floor comprises of the common areas in a semi open-plan format to allow interaction between living room, kitchen and dinning without the loss of privacy. In the first floor, the family’s bedrooms can be found. The lower ground forms a small independent ‘apartment’ for guests, with its own kitchenette and living space.
