Theatre and cultural center Rincón de la Victoria | Arquitectos Ayala

The theatre, as a cathedral of culture, must be a point of reference for the citizens and an attractive point in the city it is placed. We wanted the building to merge with the park, trying that its unavoidably central character establishes a dialogue with the trees and the vegetation. We tried to introduce the presence of the sea and the vegetation of the area inside the building, in such a way that the panoramic views of the future park can be seen from any point and the view of the far sea can be enjoyed from the main foyer’s large ledge or from the ascent to the balcony tower. A slightly sloping lawn access invites us to get into the building taking us to the foyer of the main hall. The bar-cafeteria, with an exterior access and terrace is situated under a landscaped porch. The ensemble is a volumetric composition by way of a game between full and empty elements. The distribution of the hall, the location of the building inside the plot and the strategic situation of the big central yard will allow a powerful co-existence of a theatrical complex and a cultural center and also make possible its use as a conference hall. Il teatro come cattedrale della cultura, deve essere un punto di riferimento per i cittadini ed un elemento attrattivo per la stessa città in cui sorge. Abbiamo fortemente voluto che l’edificio potesse integrarsi con il parco, garantendo il dialogo tra il suo inevitabile protagonismo e l’ambiente in cui è inserito. Abbiamo cercato di inserire la presenza del mare e della vegetazione circostante all'interno dell'edificio, in modo che da qualsiasi punto di vista si possa avere una vista panoramica del futuro parco, sia dal grande sbalzo dell’atrio principale, sia salendo sulla torre di avvistamento da dove è possibile scorgere in lontananza il mare. Un morbido tappeto erboso a gradini invita ad accedere nell'edificio trasportandoci fino all’atrio principale. Il bar-caffetteria con accesso esterno alla terrazza è stato posto sotto ad un giardino porticato protettivo. Il complesso è realizzato con una composizione volumetrica equilibrata attraverso un sottile gioco di pieni e di vuoti, mentre la distribuzione delle sale, la sistemazione all'interno del lotto e la posizione strategica di un grande cortile centrale permettono la coesistenza del teatro con il centro culturale e la possibilità di utilizzare il complesso nel suo insieme come un palazzo per congressi.
