An adjunct to history. The period of reference is the Renaissance. The building is narrow and straight, severe yet daring, due to its curve. A curve that defines a single interior space surrounding the visitor, a covered street that guides him from the historic port to the secret garden of the ancient commandery. A passage, an orifice, like the curl of an ocean wave. A metal roof and glass façades, protected by a filter of wooden slats that follow an irregular rhythm. The form is simple and strict. Supported by a metal colonnade with, again, an irregular rhythm. The blue-grey roof emerges quietly from the aligned walls of the neighboring streets. In the exhibit room it covers, the visitor, bathed in filtered rays of sun, savors a glimpse of a forbidden garden.
