BEIJING DESIGN FAIR 2012

The installation project of the Beijing Design Fair and of the cultural exhibition Design Time as well as the whole graphic project were conceived and developed by Migliore+Servetto Architects. The first edition of Beijing Design Fair represents a project with an innovative conception of the trade show space that creates a dialogue between different contents, that are usually separated: the commercial spaces of the exhibition areas, the cultural ones of the Design Time Exhibition and the spaces of art, debates and actuality located in the central events square. For this reason a strongly dialectic plant has been chosen, where the passage through the different areas would not be separated, but fluid and dynamic continually connecting one area to the other. The plan, made up of concentric rings, allows continuous and at the same time mutable paths, with constantly developing dynamic visual perspectives. At the centre there is the “events square”, the collective meeting place for events and presentations, all around it there’s the exhibit “Design Time”, the narration about Italian design marked along the different moments of the day and on the outer circle we find all the exhibition spaces of some of the most important Italian design companies. It’s a place of knowledge and in-depth analysis, thought for a mature Chinese public more and more interested in the themes of design.
