The building was designed with technological equipment and adequate facilities in order to be prepared against disasters that may affect Istanbul and to promote conscienciousness about it. Educational courses, seminars and simulation systems will allow experiencing earthquake, hurricane, fire fighting, smoke, liquefaction, first aid and emergency communications. A Planetarium, library, seminar halls, 4d video display room are proposed to offer information to the visitors. The design is intended to meet the purpose to resist against disaster and to develop public consciousness about the disasters. The structure of the building is made of concrete moment frame to resist an earthquake and a tsunami that may affect the site area. Located at a high side of the site and with an access structure to one meter high is projected to drain water. The vegetation it was planned to mitigate the effect of a tsunami in the area. The aim of the project is to acquaint the visitors with an appropriate construction to face disasters.
