It's our current competition project. see more at http://www.aiadetroitbydesign2012.com/submission-view.php? regNum=6467471 A concept is divided in two, business and rest areas. Streets don’t give possibility to make it symmetrical, So there are two main entrances, we created new shapes in the right part. Two triangle towers refer to business centers and are placed above the existing parking building. Museum of General Motors is the central cultural building for car exhibition. The first idea to make this part of town more beautiful, comfortable and effective is to make everything more cultural and “museumical”. On the first level there are recreation zones, art of views, resting places, fountains and trees. On the second level there are two, so called “Nests”, placed in the entrance, they are covered by white matte material. These are symbol of tree, fresh air and closed urban element in the big city. The third level is referred to architecture. It includes two triangle towers (130m height) with matte windows. Existing parking and port buildings are connected with bridges and go to terraces with view on the river. Aquarium and small botanical garden are placed in the same building that fills road circle. The belvedere is the main viewing point in this area. It contains bicycle road and 6m width walking road for people who wants to see the main soul of Detroit which is connected by sparkling laser strokes.
